How a dissolution test works
- Tablet goes into a vessel
A standard apparatus holds the tablet in a measured volume of liquid at a controlled temperature, stirred at a fixed rate.
- Samples are drawn over time
At set intervals, technicians remove liquid and measure how much of the active ingredient has dissolved.
- A release curve is plotted
The results show the share of ingredient released at each time point. For SDAI AKG, release continued across 6 hours.
Where the figure comes from
The dissolution profiles are described in Chinese patent CN114126601B, a sustained-release composition of alpha-ketoglutaric acid compounds. The matrix ingredients on the label, such as hypromellose and carnauba wax, are typical of this kind of tablet.
What the figure does and does not tell you
It tells you
How the tablet behaves in a laboratory vessel: it does not release everything at once.
It does not tell you
Any effect on health. A dissolution test is laboratory data about the tablet, not a study in people.
Practical points
Take the tablets as the label directs: two tablets once a day in the morning, with or without food. More on the product at www.sdaibioage.com.
